  • It's been a week since I got back to the US after doing another pre-seed round in Korea.
  • We're in Redwood City now, building the product.

  • Today was our first official day off since starting the company.
  • We still spent the day together anyway. We live together and eat together, so that part doesn't really change. Went to church, then stopped by H Mart.
  • Had dinner, drank some beer, and played Nintendo.
  • What felt good was not needing to justify the day. Stress dropped a lot. It felt a bit like being on an airplane.

  • Lately I've been thinking that I need a different framework for hiring, life, and relationships than the one I've lived with so far. Maybe human relationships just shouldn't be approached too mechanically.
  • That's still pretty hard for me. Startup thinking usually has a clear goal and hypothesis, so you can reason inside a closed system.
  • I've lived in a very self-centered way and kind of assumed everyone else did too, but people outside the startup world really are different.
  • In human-to-human relationships, I should probably use fewer words like "resolution" and "context."
